Steaming

In order to achieve a specific colour effect, you may choose to have the wood steamed – to have it heated under pressure with saturated steam, at temperatures ranging from 120 to 180 °C. Due to thermolysis (steaming) the colour permeates all the way through to the core. The wood is coloured evenly all through, so that wood colour and quality persist in additional finishes such as sawing, milling or drilling. The final colour depends on the duration and temperature of the process.

Production takes place in its entirety within our facility on Industriepark Kleefse Waard in Arnhem.
